Accessibility Statement

We are working towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA as our standard. Accessibility is part of how we build and review the site, and we treat it as an ongoing effort rather than a one-off task. This statement is honest about what is in place today and what still needs work.

Plan My Nikah is a private-sector service. We are not subject to the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018, but we still aim to meet WCAG 2.2 AA because it is the right thing to do.

Based on our own testing, the site currently supports:

• Keyboard navigation, including a “Skip to main content” link at the start of each customer-facing page, including the standalone vendor application and Hilal planner.
• Visible focus indicators on links, buttons and form fields when you navigate with a keyboard.
• Reduced motion: if your device is set to reduce motion, we minimise animations and transitions site-wide.
• Browser zoom and responsive layouts: the site reflows for smaller screens and remains usable when text is enlarged.
• Semantic structure: headings and landmark regions (navigation, main content and footer) to help assistive technology.

We know some parts of the site do not yet fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA. We are working to fix these. Known issues include:

• Some complex planning tools, including drag-and-drop seating controls, need broader testing across combinations of browsers, screen readers and switch devices. We provide keyboard and tap alternatives while that testing continues.
• User-uploaded vendor images and documents can vary in the quality of their alternative descriptions. We continue to improve author guidance and moderation for this content.

Because we have not yet tested the whole site against every WCAG 2.2 AA criterion, the site partially conforms to WCAG 2.2 AA.

Our testing to date combines:

• Automated checks: accessibility linting and axe-core smoke tests of key public pages and a representative form run in our development pipeline to catch common contrast, naming and form issues early.
• Manual testing: keyboard-only navigation and screen-reader spot checks of key pages and flows during development.

We have not yet commissioned a full independent third-party audit of the entire site.
